Dear Friends,
Being a part of any family or group always brings rewards
but also carries responsibilities. It is no different for you and
me being a part of the Franciscan Family of St. Anthony
Shrine. Among our many rewards are the spiritual benefits
from our prayer and worship, and knowing that so many
people right here and all over our great country are praying
for us every day. And with these wonderful benefits there
also come responsibilities to others in our Franciscan Family.
We are called by Christ to help repair the damage caused by
hunger, addictions and illness. Each of us is asked by Jesus,
like Francis was asked, to assist those who are elderly and
frail, young and in need of assistance, or in sin and in need
God’s comfort and mercy.
Our Franciscan Family does all that and more here at
St. Anthony Shrine, and you do all that and more with us
every day. You are part of us and of all our work and prayer.
